Do you have a few moments to spare? Perhaps when travelling on a bus or train, waiting for a lecture or in a checkout queue?
The purpose of this app is to help you revise the TCA cycle. Down load it to your smart device and revise the TCA cycle in your spare moments. (Also called the Krebs cycle or Citric acid cycle).
There are five routes through the app:
1. Learn TCA cycle - takes you step by step through the pathway.
2. 10 easy questions on the enzymes of TCA cycle tests your knowledge of the enzymes
3. 10 easy questions on the substrates of TCA cycle tests your knowledge of the substrates
4. 20 challenging questions covering all aspects of TCA cycle based only on the structure of the intermediates.
5. A drag-and-drop jigsaw puzzle - you must assemble the components of the pathway in their correct order.
Pronunciation: Some of the names of enzymes and substrates are rather long and complicated. To help you with pronunciation, a voice/spoken commentary has been added to the Learning section.
Please note that the content of this app is fairly detailed and a screen of at least 5" is recommended.
Enzymes and substrates may have different naming conventions. The naming of enzymes and substrates here is taken from Wikipedia/ TCA cycle, please check that this is consistent with the naming used in your course.
